MCP
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how you connect your CrabShack agents to the business apps you already use — accounting software, point-of-sale systems, field service tools, and more. Once connected, your agents can actually do things in those apps: look up an invoice in Xero, check a job in ServiceM8, pull a sale from Lightspeed — not just talk about them.
Think of it like giving your assistant a set of keys to your other business tools. Each key only opens one door, you decide which agents carry which keys, and you can take a key back at any time.
How It Works
- Browse the catalog — CrabShack maintains a catalog of ready-to-connect business apps. Open Integrations in the sidebar to see what's available.
- Install and connect — installing adds the app to your CrabShack instance; connecting proves you own the account (either by signing in, or by pasting a key from that app's settings, depending on the app).
- Your main agent gets access automatically — once a connection is live, your main assistant can use it right away.
- Other agents start with none — if you've created additional agents (for a specific team or task), you choose which connections each one is allowed to use.
- CrabShield watches every connection — all MCP traffic passes through CrabShack's built-in security layer, which restricts what a connection can do and scans for suspicious behavior. See MCP Hardening for details — you don't need to configure anything for this protection to apply.
