Agent Templates
What It Does
Templates are ready-made agent roles for common small-business jobs — instead of writing instructions from scratch, you pick one that's close to what you need and adjust it. Applying a template fills in the agent's name and instructions for you; you can still edit both after the agent is created.
Browsing Templates
When creating a new agent (see Getting Started), the What should this agent do? gallery shows template cards, filterable by category: All, Customers, Sales, Operations, Creative, and Research. A few examples:
- Customer Support Agent — handles customer inquiries, troubleshoots issues
- Sales Assistant — qualifies leads, answers product questions
- Appointment Scheduler — books, reschedules, and manages appointments
- Restaurant Host — takes reservations, answers menu questions
- Property Assistant — answers property inquiries, schedules viewings
- FAQ Bot — answers common questions from a fixed set of answers
- Order Tracker — answers questions about order status
If nothing quite fits, Start from scratch is always the first option in the gallery — describe the role in your own words instead.
A real estate office creates an agent to field listing questions around the clock. From the template gallery, they filter to Sales and pick Property Assistant, which pre-fills instructions for answering property questions and scheduling viewings. They tweak a couple of details about their specific listings process, then create the agent.
After Applying a Template
- The agent's display name and instructions are filled in from the template.
- Nothing else is copied automatically — the new agent still has no MCP connections and no channels (see Getting Started).
- You can freely edit the instructions afterward from the agent's workspace files if the template needs adjusting for your business.
